Job Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team: Provide strong leadership and guidance to a team of Business Development Executive/s, fostering a high-performance culture and ensuring the team’s success in meeting sales targets. Provide ongoing coaching, training, and support to help team members excel in their roles.
- Develop and execute business development strategies: Develop comprehensive business development plans in collaboration with the team, aligning strategies with company objectives. Identify new business opportunities and devise effective strategies to penetrate target markets and expand our customer base.
- Client relationship management: Build and nurture strong relationships with existing and potential clients. Work closely with the team to understand client needs, challenges, and goals. Act as a strategic advisor, providing tailored solutions and addressing customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Sales performance management: Monitor and track the team’s sales activities, performance, and progress towards targets. Provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and implement corrective actions as needed. Analyze sales data and market trends to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to drive sales growth.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Collaborate closely with internal teams such as operations, logistics, and customer service to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction. Facilitate effective communication and coordination between teams to drive successful business outcomes.
- Market analysis and competitor research: Stay updated on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitor activities. Conduct market analysis to identify potential opportunities, market gaps, and competitive advantages. Leverage this knowledge to develop strategies that position our supply chain services for success.
- Proposal development and contract negotiations: Oversee the preparation and submission of compelling sales proposals and contracts. Collaborate with the team to ensure proposals are tailored to meet client requirements. Participate in contract negotiations to secure new business opportunities and favorable terms.
- Relationship building and networking: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities. Build and expand professional networks, nurture industry relationships, and generate leads for business development initiatives.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in business development or sales roles, preferably in the supply chain services industry or with exposure and a wide network of PEZA accounts.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and negotiate effectively.
- Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify market opportunities and develop innovative sales strategies.
- Proficiency in using CRM software and other sales tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed to meet clients and attend industry events.
- Driving skills, preferably drives own car.
