- The Data Viz Analyst role is responsible for executing a wide variety of database-focused analysis activities in support of a client’s efforts to integrate disparate data sets and develop automated reporting solutions. This role supports the Senior Analyst in understanding the client’s business and analytical needs, with a focus on creating reports that facilitate decision-making and drive actionable insights. The analyst will work with various data analysis and Business Intelligence tools such as Azure, SQL Server, and Power BI on a daily basis.
Responsibilities:
- Work as part of a project team to plan, design, and take ongoing accountability for creating cutting-edge visualizations that meet client needs.
- Assist in building state-of-the-art, multi-cloud capable products by automating build and deployment processes and developing solutions using custom-made, open-source, and third-party tools.
- Serve various functions, including investigating new product features, identifying technology-driven opportunities, and creating internal processes to overcome team obstacles.
- Play an integral role in verifying enterprise databases to ensure data integrity and investigate any discrepancies.
- Utilize SQL to develop new data engineering processes, perform database management tasks, and provide guidance to team members on best practices and performance optimization.
- Develop creative solutions in visualization, data management, and automation to drive business growth.
- Continuously seek improvements, monitor quality levels, and address quality problems.
- Take a leadership role in client conversations related to ongoing initiatives, embodying the team’s problem-solving mindset.
Requirements:
- At least 3+ years of experience in data and analytics.
- Highly accountable self-starter with the ability to work well both independently and within a group.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or Information Technology preferred.
- Desired experience with ETL and ETL tools (preferably SQL Server Integration Services) and SQL coding language. Knowledge of MDX (Microsoft’s Data-specific version of SQL) is a plus.
- Demonstrated experience using Power BI, preferably with DAX expertise, and a keen eye for industry trends in data visualization.
- Knowledge and experience with Azure is a plus (Databricks or Data Factory for accessing Data Lakes, SSAS, Synapse, and Function).
- Desired experience in pulling data from Adobe Analytics.
- Certifications in Power BI and other relevant tools are desired but not required.
- Preferred ability to run Adobe Analytic queries, although not required.
- Strong analytical skills are a must.
- Some understanding of business processes to facilitate the reclassification of business data into usable formats.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle multiple clients and projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and adapt to changing business requirements.
