About the Role:

• The Data Viz Analyst role will be responsible for executing a wide variety of database-focused analysis activities in support of a client that is looking for help to join disparate data sets and develop more automated reporting solutions. This role will support the Senior Analyst in understanding the client’s business and analytic needs, in terms of developing reporting that promotes decision making and insights that drive recommended actions. In this role, the analyst will have exposure to a wide variety of data analysis and Business Intelligence tools such as Azure, SQL Server, Power BI and will be expected to apply these tools on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

• Work as a part of a project team, where you will plan, design, and have ongoing accountability for the creation of cutting-edge visualizations to meet our client’s needs
• Assist in building state-of-the-art, multi-cloud capable products by:
  • Automating build and deployment processes
  • Creation of solutions that include custom-made, open-source, and 3rd party solutions for solving pertinent business problems
• Serve a multitude of functions including but not limited to:
  • Investigation of new product features, identifying new opportunities (in technology or to advance our client’s goals), creating internal processes for removing obstacles within the team
• Be an integral player in verification of enterprise databases to allow for confirmation of data integrity and investigation of any discrepancies
• Utilize SQL to create new data engineering processes and perform database management, as well as guide other team members in best practices and performance optimization
• Develop creative solutions in visualization, data management, and automation that help drive our business forward
• Continuously look for improvements, monitor quality levels, and manage quality problems
• Be a leader in client conversations related to ongoing initiatives where you embody our team’s “we’ll figure it out” mindset

Education and Experience:

• At least 3+ years of experience in data and analytics
• Highly accountable self-starter with the ability to work well within a group, as well as independently
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Technology preferred
• Experience with ETL and ETL tools is desired (SQL Server Integration Services is preferred, but other tools such as Airflow would work)
• Knowledge and experience with SQL (preferably in SQL Server) coding language; MDX is a plus (Microsoft’s Data-specific version of SQL)
• Demonstrated experience using Power BI (preferably with DAX experience) – with a keen eye towards industry trends in data visualization
• Knowledge and experience within Azure a plus, but not required (Databricks or Data Factory to access Data Lakes, SSAS, Synapse, and Function)
• Knowledge and experience pulling data from Adobe Analytics is desired
• Certifications in Power BI and other tools listed above are desired (not required)
• Ability to run Adobe Analytic queries preferred, but not required
• Must demonstrate strong analytical skills
• Some working business understanding, to help reclassify business data into a usable format
• Must have strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Must be able to handle multiple clients and projects simultaneously
• Must be proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills a plus
• Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and evolve as business requirements change.
