Job Description:
The R&D Laboratory Supervisor is accountable for leading and managing the research and development activities within their assigned laboratory and product category. The primary responsibility is to proactively drive and oversee the development, innovation, and renovation/improvement of products, systems, and processes from inception through all stages of development to meet management business objectives and timetables. This includes ensuring proper documentation and end-to-end project management in accordance with procedures and guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Lead and oversee the development of products/systems/processes within the assigned laboratory and product category, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the R&D Division Manager and cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Finance, Operations, Purchasing & Planning, to collaborate on overall directions.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical and scientific expertise/guidance leading to the development and improvement of product innovation, quality, and safety standards for raw materials, equipment, and processes within their Lab Category.
- Regulatory Compliance: Collaborate with the Technical Product Manager to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Quality and Safety Management: Act as the functional expert in food quality and safety, including risk management, shelf-life studies, and food safety.
- Innovation and Improvement: Lead initiatives for product innovation to ensure product attribute superiority, high product acceptability, and business sustainability.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, or related fields.
- Minimum of 8 years of professional experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity.
- Experience within the food solutions industry is advantageous.
